Legal Reasoning

In Legal Reasoning research, scientists develop models of case-based reasoning in domains such as law and practical ethics to better understand legal issues. Specific areas of interest include developing case-based and analogical reasoning as alternative techniques for acquiring knowledge in artificial intelligence programs (see Ashley), see also Explaining Legal Concepts Using GPT-4, and understanding legal problems posed by computer technology such as intellectual property, commercial law, product liability, technology licensing, and computer crime and privacy (see Ashley).
