stock graphic arrow gears Cathedral "Generative AI and Dialogue: An Idea Lab for Revolutionizing Teaching and Learning" will be held on May 2the Pittsburgh campus. The goal of the half-day event is to explore the potential of Generative AI (GenAI) in shaping the future of discourse-based pedagogies. This dynamic gathering aims to unite a diverse cross-section of the entire university community (Pittsburgh and branches), including faculty, staff, and students, to explore and co-create the future of learning and teaching. Participants will engage in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment with the goal of contributing to a rich corpus of research and practical strategies centered on GenAI's integration into education. This event is co-hosted by the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), School of Computing and Information (SCI), and the University Center for Teaching and Learning (UCLT).

Anyone who has experience with GenAI in an educational setting is invited to apply to be a Flashtalk presenter. Faculty, Staff, and Students who are accepted will be asked to create a 3-5-minute talk to tell attendees about your successes, failures, opportunities, and challenges when using GenAI. Students from all disciplines and levels are welcome to apply.

  • April 9: Deadline to submit a Flashtalk proposal.
  • By April 12: Selected Flashtalk proposals will be notified.
  • If you are selected, you must be available to participate in person.
